TURKISH AND ISLAMIC ARTS MUSEUM
Located in Istanbul’s old town, Sultanahmet, the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum is home to a vast historical collection. The building, which used to be the palace of Pargali Ibrahim Pasha, the second grand vizier to Suleiman the Magnificent, now includes notable examples of Islamic calligraphy, tiles and rugs, as well as ethnographic displays on various cultures in Turkey, namely nomad groups. The museum houses over 40,000 works of art ranging from carpets, wood carvings, and stone art. The museum is one of the largest in Turkey and is culturally rich in various areas, including its location, as it sits across from the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
Ayse Coskun, Emin Berk, Ismail Onur Gonullu, Ozgun Sahin, Seda Kayatepe and Sener Yilmaz Aslan.
The exhibition is available at Akbank Sanat from Tuesday to Saturday between 2pm and 7pm.
